Animal Abuse Facts
Morgan is very into animal rights - it's her passion. No kill animal shelters and animal rescue are so important to Morgan that she donates monies from her performances and 10% of her CD sales to a local animal shelter. She's helping to raise money for a new shelter, so that a lot more innocent animals can be helped. Morgan urges teens that want to get involved in animal welfare to
check out the humane society.
Morgan says:
When I got my prize money for winning the semi-finals in the WNBA talent contest on June 14, 2003
at Madison Square Garden, I donated one-third of the money, plus money from my CD's that had sold,
to our local no-kill animal shelter. They sent me a thank-you letter saying my check had gone to
support a homeless cat named Jimmie -- (which is also my uncle's name) -- for the year.
When I got more prize money from performing again on August 22, I sent them another check to
save another kitty.
I don't know that cat's name yet but it doesn't matter. I know that there are two homeless animals that wouldn't otherwise have been saved. That makes me feel very good.
If you want to get involved in saving animals in your local community, write to Morgan and she'll refer you to an organization near you.
